Doomsterfire2049 I am so proud to be a Portlander. this is just PNW black metal at its absolute peak. the first time I finished this album I just sat there in silence for a moment as the fog of Barrowlands rolled back. and when it did all I wanted was for it to come back, so I hit play again. totally. memorizing album.

Jeff Richardson As a young kid, I was intrigued (at first) with the Hollow Earth idea as imagined by Edmond Halley; quickly dispelled as so much hokum. Indeed, if such place existed, unmolested and unvarnished by man, it would resemble the image presented here; a reflection of the coarsely polished musical landscape presented by Barrowlands: dark and pleasingly unrefined. Favorite track: Mother of Storms.
Black Autumn

Black Autumn This is a hidden gem of atmospheric Black Metal for sure. I acutally wouldn't have dared to ever hope that there would be a band recording in a style as Barrowlands did. I've been listening to Black Metal ever since the nineties and the most important quality a BM record must have had was and is ATMOSPHERE. And Barrowlands have it. Think of early ULVER, KVIST, ANCIENT or early THORNIUM. Best atmospheric BM I've heard IN YEARS! Favorite track: In the Shadow of the Mountain.
